Sundae Manitoba
Many customers have discovered how easy it is to make dessert special by serving ice cream topped with one of our raspberry products. Manitoba Day is May 12th and here is the perfect way to celebrate it with panache! It’s not too bad on the health quotient either.
- Flax’n Sunflower Brittle
- ½ cup raw, hulled sunflower seeds
- ¼ cup whole flax seed
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 2 Tablespoon honey
Dry toast the sunflower seeds and flax seed in a heavy skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter and honey. Return to low heat while stirring constantly until sunflower seeds begin to brown. Spread thinly on parchment or greased wax paper, cool and then break into small bits.
Assembly:
- 1 scoop ice cream in a sundae dish
- 2 Tablespoons Poplar Grove Farm Pure Raspberry spread
- 1 swirl of whipped cream
- 1 sprinkle of Flax’n Sunflower brittle
